THE HAND OF JESUS STILL BRINGS LIFE

THE HAND OF JESUS STILL BRINGS LIFE

Mark 5:41 — “He took the child by the hand and said to her, ‘Talitha koum!’ (which means ‘Little girl, I say to you, arise!’).”

There are moments in life when hope seems buried beneath pain, silence, and tears. In Mark 5:21-43, we see a father named Jairus fighting through fear as his little daughter lay dying. The atmosphere around him was heavy with sorrow, but Jairus chose to run to Jesus instead of surrendering to despair. That is the power of faith — it keeps moving toward God even when circumstances are screaming that it is too late.

Jesus did not ignore Jairus in his brokenness. He walked with him through the crowd, through the delay, and through the heartbreaking news that the child had died. While others believed the story was over, Jesus spoke words that carried heaven’s authority: “Do not be afraid; only believe.” Those words still carry power today. Fear may visit your heart, but faith in Christ can still change the outcome of your story.

When Jesus entered the room, He was surrounded by people filled with doubt and mourning. They laughed when He said the child was not dead but sleeping. The world often laughs at faith because it cannot understand the power of God. But Jesus does not need human approval to perform divine miracles. His presence alone can turn mourning into dancing and darkness into light.

The beautiful part of this story is that Jesus did not stand far away from the child. He took her by the hand. That touch represented compassion, authority, and restoration. The same Savior who touched Jairus’ daughter still reaches for broken hearts today. His hand is not too short to save, and His mercy has not run dry.

Sometimes life leaves people spiritually exhausted, emotionally wounded, and mentally overwhelmed. There are people smiling in public while silently fighting battles in private. Yet Jesus specializes in walking into hopeless rooms and breathing life where strength has disappeared. No situation is beyond His power.

Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” What a comforting reminder that God does not abandon His children in moments of pain. He draws near to those who feel weak, forgotten, and shattered by life. His presence becomes the strength that carries us when we can no longer carry ourselves.

Jairus could have turned back when the messengers told him his daughter was dead. He could have allowed disappointment to destroy his faith. Instead, he kept walking with Jesus. That is a lesson many believers need today. Do not stop trusting God simply because the answer has not arrived yet. Heaven is still working even when nothing around you seems to be changing.

The room that once echoed with mourning suddenly became a place of astonishment and joy. Jesus spoke life with divine authority, and the little girl arose immediately. In one moment, God changed everything. Never underestimate what the power of Christ can do in a single day, a single prayer, or a single encounter with Him.

There are dreams that seem dead, families that seem broken, and hearts that feel beyond repair. But Jesus is still the resurrection and the life. He still restores what people think is finished. He still opens doors no man can shut. His power has not weakened with time.

Jeremiah 32:27 declares, “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?” This verse reminds us that God is not intimidated by impossible situations. The miracle in Jairus’ house proves that God’s authority is greater than sickness, fear, delay, and even death itself.

Faith does not mean the absence of tears. Jairus was grieving, afraid, and desperate. Yet he still chose to believe Jesus. Real faith holds onto God while the storm is raging. Real faith continues praying when answers seem delayed. Real faith trusts God’s heart even when life does not make sense.

Jesus also showed something powerful in this story: He cares personally about people. He was not too busy to stop for Jairus. He was not too distant to touch the child’s hand. Our Savior is deeply moved by the cries of His people. Every prayer matters to Him. Every tear is seen by Him. Every silent battle is known by Him.

The miracle in Mark 5 is not just about a child being raised. It is about the victory of faith over fear. It is about the authority of Christ over every impossible situation. It is about the reminder that God can still revive what the world has declared finished.

Today, no matter what situation stands before you, keep believing. The same Jesus who walked into Jairus’ house still walks into impossible situations today. He still restores peace to troubled hearts, strength to weary souls, and hope to those who feel surrounded by darkness. His touch still changes everything, and His voice still speaks life over His children.
